I applied for and was selected in the summer of 2020 to lead a mural project on Babbitt Road in Euclid. This was no small feat- measuring 450’ long, we had many hands on deck from the Cleveland School of the Arts and the Euclid community. Made possible in part by a paint grant from Sherwin Williams and Keep Euclid Beautiful.
It reads “See the ‘U’ and ‘I’ in Euclid & do beautiful things”. Painted in September of 2020, this mural offered a safe and creative opportunity for people to be together in the height of the Covid pandemic. It also was made to serve as a reminder that Euclid is a diverse community, and when we work together it flourishes.
Students outlined the main design while visitors added their own creative touch! It was fantastic to be with students & neighbors that I had seen only over the computer screen for so long. Members of CSA Classes of 2020, 2021 & 2024 all contributed alongside residents & the Keep Euclid Beautiful group.
